How Do Traction Concepts LSD Conversions Work?Traction Concepts Limited Slip Conversion Kits are custom-designed for the specific OEM differential you are purchasing for; they’re not a one-size-fits-all differentials solution. Each LSD Conversion is meticulously assembled with pressure-tested, matched sets of progressive-rate springs to ensure equal load distribution across our LSD Disc Plates. Designed to work seamlessly with OEM open differentials, our kits dramatically enhance traction performance and reliability. Trusted by vehicle manufacturers and their motorsports teams, Traction Concepts sets the standard in differential conversion.
How Does It Work?Traction Concepts converts your open differential into a Limited Slip differential, maintaining all the benefits of a traditional limited slip. Our innovative design has been perfected since 1996, offering a reliable alternative to welding diff gears or replacing a perfectly functioning differential. We continuously refine our LSD Conversions for modern performance, adapting to various conditions and terrains. Performance FeaturesCornering and Braking: Traction Concepts Limited Slip utilizes precision-cut Disc Plates that function like a disc-type limited slip during cornering and braking. Our LSD Disc plates exert equal load against the spider/axle gears through progressive rate spring pressure, controlling wheel slippage. This enables quicker acceleration and sustained higher speeds through corners, resulting in predictable handling. Hard Launching and Burnouts: Our Limited Slip Conversions also act like a locker, providing 50-50 = 100% locking during hard acceleration. When HP and torque is applied, our Limited Slip Disc Plates pivot to lock the smaller pinion spider/axle gears, ensuring both wheels deliver equal power to the ground. This reduces torque steer compared to ordinary open differentials, improving your 60' times and overall performance.
